Athol Library Unveils Fall Lineup Anchored by Fifth Comic Book Fest
ATHOL — Athol Public Library rolled out a slate of fall programs this week, headlined by the fifth anniversary of its Comic Book Fest, while Athol High School's fall athletes were in action on both the volleyball court and the football field.

Athol Public Library announced its Comic Book Fest is celebrating five years, with a costume-themed centerpiece: a Cosplay Contest set for Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the festival. The library is also running a Scary Short Story Writing Contest open to all ages, with entries due by the October 25 deadline.
Two hands-on programs are on the library's near-term calendar. A Giant Portraits session runs Wednesday, September 23, from 4 to 5 p.m., and a Diamond Dot Art: Coasters craft program follows Thursday, September 24, at 3:30 p.m. Both are free and open to the public at the library's 568 Main Street location.
