Athol man appears in federal court on child pornography charge

An Athol man was in federal court this week on a child pornography possession charge, according to a report from Franklin County Now, the most significant news to come out of town over the past day. Town Hall also posted new job openings for the Department of Public Works, and the Athol Public Library kept its summer slate of exhibits and discussions moving forward.

The Department of Public Works is accepting applications for open positions, the town announced in a News Flash posted Thursday. Residents interested in applying can find details through the town's official alerts page.

The Athol Public Library's "Cosplay Ducks" display remains on view on the library's second floor through August 28. Separately, the library's summer reading program wraps up its run on August 14, closing out weeks of youth participation ahead of the new school year.
